More than half of global hotel website traffic comes from mobile, as travellers research, compare and book on the go. Hotels whose booking journey isn’t mobile-optimised lose those guests to OTAs after doing all the work to bring them over to their own site.

For our partner Ariv Design Apartments, where the majority of traffic already arrives via mobile, a strategy focused on mobile conversion matters immensely.

In this case study, we look at how we worked with Ariv Design Apartments to turn their mobile traffic into more direct bookings and stronger direct revenue growth.

About Ariv Design Apartments

Our partner Ariv Design Apartments is based in Zug, Switzerland. It’s a flexible-stay property built around privacy and community: self-check-in studios and suites, shared spaces like a co-working lounge and community kitchen, meeting rooms and a 100m² conference room, and corporate rates with custom booking codes for companies. Guests range from remote workers and relocators to business travellers, couples, solo travellers and families.

Ariv runs on Hotelchamp’s full product suite: Convert, Booking Engine, Metasearch and Websites, with an ambitious direct and total revenue target year-round.

Goal

Ariv Design Apartments has made a deliberate choice to skip seasonal packages and discount offers, offering only differentiated short-, medium- and long-stay rates on the site. That’s a natural fit for their audience and goals, and it also means direct revenue has to be earned through an optimal guest experience, not offers.

Following learning and changes made in the final performance review of 2025, the goal for the first half of 2026 was to get Metasearch, Booking Engine and Convert working together on a mobile-first footing: aiming to drive more qualified traffic and maximise mobile conversion.

One of the mobile-only interactions Hotelchamp built for Ariv: an exclusive promo code paired with real-time urgency signals to nudge mobile visitors toward booking.

Solution

Having noticed that the majority of Ariv’s traffic was arriving via mobile, and with a focus on direct bookings and visibility, we adapted the strategy rather than retrofitting desktop-first tactics:

  • Metasearch and Google Ads became the main lever for visibility and direct bookings: campaigns were optimised to reach mobile searchers at the moment they’re comparing rates on Google Hotel Ads, driving qualified traffic straight to Ariv’s own booking engine instead of an OTA.
  • Through Convert, we added mobile-specific interactions, including a mobile-only promo rate and a mobile Metasearch early-bird offer, that nudge mobile visitors at the exact moment they’re ready to book, turning more of that Metasearch and Google Ads traffic into direct revenue.
  • Booking Engine’s app-like design gave mobile visitors the same fast, familiar booking flow as desktop, removing friction from the channel doing most of the work.

The result was Metasearch, Booking Engine and Convert reinforcing each other on the same channel, mobile, rather than working in isolation.

“Hotelchamp understood how our guests actually book, and built a strategy around that instead of guessing. We’re happy with the strategy the Hotelchamp team created for us, and the results we’re getting from the product suite speak for themselves.” — Benedikt Walz, Founder

Results

The mobile-first alignment shows up across conversion, revenue and Convert’s own performance data.

  • Revenue through the Booking Engine was up 16.3% in H1 2026 versus H2 2025, with bookings up 19% and average length of stay up nearly 14%, direct evidence of the strategy converting mobile traffic into bookings.
  • 50.9x return on investment from Convert, contributing to 52% of assisted revenue in H1 2026, with mobile interactions consistently the top performers.
  • Convert’s top three mobile interactions reinforce that pattern: a USP-led mobile message was seen over 8,000 times with an 11.5% conversion rate after click, the mobile-only promo code converted at 8.6%, and a mobile Metasearch early-bird offer posted a 25% click rate with revenue up over 40% month-on-month at its peak.

Together, the numbers point to the same story: aligning the booking journey with how guests actually shop, on mobile, without needing a stack of offers, is what’s driving the revenue gain, not any single campaign, interaction or discount.
