FAQ’s

Does the Booking Engine support Klarna?

Yes. Klarna is available for hotels located in a country using one of the following currencies: AUD, CAD, CHF, CZK, DKK, EUR, GBP, NOK, NZD, PLN, RON, SEK, or USD. The guest also needs to be located in one of the supported countries: Australia, Austria, Belgium, Canada, Czechia, Denmark, Finland, France, Germany, Greece, Ireland, Italy, the Netherlands, New Zealand, Norway, Poland, Portugal, Romania, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, the UK, or the US. Klarna is switched off by default. Hotels can enable it directly in Stripe at any time.

What Channel Managers are supported, and are there any connectivity fees?

The Booking Engine supports over 120 Channel Managers, including D-Edge, Siteminder, Amadeus, Clock, Rategain, and Mews. There are no additional connectivity fees charged by Hotelchamp.

Are there any fees associated with payments?

Payments processed through the Booking Engine use handpicked payment service providers selected for their best-in-class conversion performance, payment functionality, and reliability. Hotelchamp does not add any additional payment fees on top of the standard fees charged by the payment provider. Hotels can choose the payment setup that best fits their operational needs, with different payment methods configured per rate and per hotel. Stripe is our preferred global payment partner and offers some of the most advanced payment technology available worldwide. It supports embedded checkout, Apple Pay, Google Pay, one-click checkout, and a wide range of local payment methods such as iDEAL, Bancontact, and Swish. Payments are tightly integrated into the Booking Engine to create a fast, seamless checkout experience designed to maximise conversion. Stripe is available in most countries, including the EEA, UK, US, Canada, Singapore, and more. For selected PMSs such as Mews, and soon Apaleo, Hotelchamp also offers accounting integrations to help keep payment and reconciliation data in sync. For hotels in Asia-Pacific, Red Dot Payment provides a strong regional solution with excellent local market coverage and support for both international cards and popular regional payment methods. It is available in markets including Singapore, Hong Kong, Japan, Malaysia, Taiwan, Thailand, Vietnam, and Indonesia, and supports major cards such as Visa, Mastercard, AMEX, and JCB, as well as e-wallets including GrabPay, Alipay, and WeChat Pay. Red Dot Payment fees are shared on request. For hotels that prefer to take payment through their own PMS-connected gateway, Hotelchamp also supports Credit Card Guarantee. In this setup, card details are securely tokenised using PCI-compliant technology and passed via the Channel Manager or PMS, allowing the hotel to charge the guest directly within its own payment environment. Hotelchamp absorbs the tokenisation costs for this method. This option does not incur payment processing fees through Hotelchamp, while still allowing hotels to benefit from a smooth booking flow. Refunds, Pay Later payments, and cancellation handling can also be automated based on configurable rules for eligible bookings.

How long does it take to set up the Booking Engine?

Setup typically takes 4–8 weeks, depending on hotel readiness and complexity (e.g. payment configuration, custom design). You can join the waitlist now to get started.

Does the Booking Engine support GA4 and custom tracking scripts?

Yes, the Booking Engine fully supports GA4 for booking conversion tracking. We require access to your GA4 and Google Tag Manager (GTM) accounts to complete the setup. You can also add custom tracking scripts via GTM by providing your GTM ID. Tracking now includes additional booking data such as room nights, dates, and reservation ID, and accurately tracks actions like “Show Booking Engine” clicks and successful purchases.

Can confirmation and cancellation emails be sent from our own domain?

Yes, we can send guest emails (confirmation and cancellation) from your own domain. You’ll need to provide the required permissions in your DNS settings. These emails include customisable content such as the sender name, welcome message, and hotel contact information. Contact details are now interactive (clickable address and email), and booking emails also display the correct room image and reservation ID.If preferred, you can disable guest emails entirely. Hotel notification emails will still be sent via the Booking Engine for operational processes like refunds and cancellations.

Can the Booking Engine be customised to match our branding?

Yes. The Booking Engine supports a growing range of visual customisation options. You can set your brand’s primary colour, which is used throughout the interface, including the calendar and button elements. Additional design options include: support for custom fonts (titles, headers) on request, option for square corners in design and “Luxury design” packages with deeper styling customisation (available via developer setup). Some of these settings require configuration by our team—please reach out if you have specific design needs.
